15 July 2007 - Day 8

This morning, cadets were given the opportunity to attend the religious service of their choice. A nondenominational service was held on campus, led by Chaplain Peters. Others went to services off campus. Those who didn't attend services practiced rifle drill. Red Hats worked with White Hats on manuals such as Slaps 'n Taps. After lunch, flights continued planning and practicing elements of their flight performances. Red and Blue Hats worked with Capt Abe Phares, a 2002 Academy graduate, on intermediate and advanced rifle manuals. Following chow, everyone had a class in public speaking, the White Hats learning extemporaneous, and the Blue and Red Hats learning impromptu. Cadets went to bed early, but were woken at 10:30 for a fire drill conducted by campus safety.
